  • The Vertigo M1 accepts most manual-focus EF mount lenses within the following specifications:

-A maximum outside diameter of 92mm.

-A maximum weight of 2.5 lbs each

    -A maximum length of 130mm / 5 inches

    NOTE:

-Longer/ heavier lenses may be supported via a 15mm rod base (not included).

-The M1 does NOT provide an electronic connection to the lenses, so they may not operate as you expect (ie. electronically controlled iris, AF and IS will not operate).

-EF lenses with outside diameters greater than 93mm (ie 114mm Canon CN-E, Zeiss CP2) may be mountable, but only singly, or paired with lenses of smaller diameter.

-Extremely wide lens-bases (at EF mount end) may not fit. Canon 85mm 1.4 do fit. We have’t yet found a lens that won’t fit, but you might :)

-If it looks wrong, don’t mount it.

-Remember that lenses on the VERTIGO-M may “see” each other, so don’t plan on using a short 8mm with a long 200mm. Select wider lenses (20mm or less) that are the same physical length (or longer) than your other lenses and you should be safe.

  • 15mm Rod Baseplate

The Vertigo M1 requires a 15mm rod lightweight-spacing base that accepts our M1 15mm rod bracket and does not project forward of the camera’s E-mount. See more details here.

We recommend the Bright Tangerine Leftfield system. Vertigo customers save 15% on their products.

    Handheld

For tips on handheld builds and operation see our Tips & Tricks here.

The width of the Vertigo M1 requires the stock Sony grip to be offset.

We recommend the use of a 50mm rosette extension and Shape’s grip extension.

For the FX6, a short extension (ie Shape’s adapter) may keep your camera build more compact if you don’t want to use a full extension.
